Review: 8/10

Cosmo’s Midnight kicked off October with the release of their new psychedelic fueled album Yesteryear. Throughout the project the duo clearly draws upon influences from Tame Impala, without losing originality. With the singles “Down For You” and “C.U.D.I (Can U Dig It)” leading the way the album makes for a fun ride that will have you dancing for years to come.
The greatest strength of Yesteryear is the change of pace that feels natural and smooth. This tempo is able to effectively alter the mood and enhance each track with ease, sparking uncontrollable joy that thrives on sunny afternoons. The electronic rockers are incredibly danceable, cool, and catchy on all twelve-tracks, with well-timed features from Ruel, Stevan, Age.Sex.Location, and Matthew Young intertwined.
Cosmo’s Midnight proves that they deserve to be on your radar with this funky LP that contains both fresh features and incredible production. Once concerts return, this Australian duo consisting of twin brothers, Cosmo and Patrick Liney will undoubtedly be at the top of our list.
