SAINt JHN Fuels the Fire on New Album 'While The World Was Burning'

The Brooklyn native is out to prove something. Despite While The World Was Burning being SAINt JHN's third studio album, his work has been undervalued over the last couple of years. Beginning with his 2018 debut album Collection One, JHN proved that he is talented, unconventional, and does not shy away from being himself. While Collection One was not necessarily the breakthrough project he might have hoped for, the single "Roses" gained widespread attention and really started trending after being remixed by Imanbek. On Spotify the "Roses (Imanbek Remix)" has amassed well over one-million streams and can be heard at parties all over the nation.

In 2019, SAINt JHN dropped his finest album to date in Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs. Every track on this LP resonates and brings something unique, whether that be trap-inspired bangers or emotive love songs. This album remains one of the most underappreciated releases of 2019 and is still in my rotation.

On While The World Was Burning the 34-year-old artist feels slightly repetitive with "Monica Lewinsky, Election Year" and two "Roses" remixes making the cut. Despite this, excellent features from JID, Kanye West, Kehlani, 6LACK, and others helps SAINt JHN put together a solid album. The best part of this new release is that JHN remains himself throughout and builds upon Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs.
