Tommy Newport Could be Your Summer Vibe

For me, this strange time has been all about exploring and finding new music that doesn't simply pop up on my Spotify suggestions. One day, while I was checking out various A COLORS SHOWS on YouTube I came across a video of a young guy jamming out in a pair of clout goggles and for some reason I clicked on the video, not really expecting much. I was immediately both surprised and intrigued by the uniqueness of his voice. His vocals were not completely polished and he was not going to blow anyone away with his voice, although he brought his own style and a calm swagger to the performance. After viewing this video, I searched for Tommy Newport on Spotify and I have really been enjoying his stuff recently.

Eighteen-year old Oliver Milmine, who performs under the name Tommy Newport, is originally from Manchester, England but relocated to the United States at a young age. He is based out of Wichita, Kansas and has released two singles in 2020, "Marigold" and "Someone Like Me". Newport only has one album on his resume so far, but he has released several hot singles since 2019, including "Million", "Future Man", and "Holy Water".

The bedroom-pop artist who utilizes various sounds and genres such as funk and rock, could have a very bright road ahead of him if he continues to explore and develop his music. He has that careless, yet also cool teenage boy appearance and this seems to pair perfectly with his music, that feels like it belongs on a beach in Orange County. I am very excited to continue to follow the young artist over the years and I definitely believe that he could become a star among the indie-pop crowd.
